As the West African Examination Council (WAEC) celebrates students who excelled in the 2017 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

Students from Holy Child and Aburi Girls senior high schools excelled during the examinations.

Jochebed Adwoa Sutherland is the Overall Best 2017 WASSCE student, Audrey Emefa Awuttey is the first runner-up – they were both students of Holy Child Senior High School.

Rachel Amaning Kwarteng, a former student of Aburi Girls is the second runner-up.

All the three best students are currently students at the University of Ghana Medical School.

Adwoa, the best students wins an $8,000 prize money, a full scholarship from UMB and a laptop.

Audrey, the second best student won $600 in prize money from WAEC, GHS 15,000 from Bond Financial Services and two laptops.

On the other hand, Rachel, third best student WASSCE student, won $500WAEC, GHS 5,000 from the First Banc and a laptop.

All three will also be entitled to one year of free medical care.

For the specific programms category, Jochebed Adwoa Sutherland was the best General Science student, Hazel Asantewaa Kisi-Dankwa (Aburi Girls) was the best Business student, while Chris Delanyo Yao Ackotia (Achimota School) was the best General Arts student.
