NORTHERN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
NORTHERN SCHOOL OF BUSINESS
About: AB REVIEW SAYS Founded in 1978, Northern School of Business has risen to become one of the well noted schools in the region. Their popularity in the region primarily stems from their well-schemed and tutored business programs. The school which began in the early 70’s as a private school in recent times is faced with infrastructure problems. Recent calls have been made by the school authorities for a boost in infrastructure to improve its status in the region as a top school and give students a more comprehensive education. Some of the infrastructure which requires a needed improvement includes school dormitories, dining hall and library facilities. The school provides a competitive academic environment for students especially in the area of business. In the last WASSCE, out of the three hundred and fifty six candidates that the school fielded only 4 failed. This feat can be traced to the corporation amongst the staff and their dedication to work. Northern School of Business is now diversifying their course structure with the introduction of two General Arts classes and One Home Econs class to the already existing four business classes. Plans are also underway to add Agric Science to the list of courses. Northern School of Business has lots of potential to improve its ratings. More emphasis should be given to promoting its good profile outside its environs. Northern School of Business Senior High, as is currently known, was first established as a private Business School in 1972 by MrASOArthur, as Northern School of Business (NOBISCO)The school was then housed in a makeshift structure without electricity, pipe-borne water and other basic facilities that make for a standard institution The student population at its inception stood a little over one hundred (100) with a land area of about 527 square acres even though part of the land has been encroached uponThe following subjects were offered for the award of the General Certificate of Education (GCE ‘O’ Level) at the establishment of the school: Mathematics, English Language, Islamic Studies, Business Methods, Commerce, History, Geography and Ghanaian languages. To provide quality education to its students so as to enable them acquire the requisite qualification for further learning in tertiary institutions and become responsible and productive citizens ready to assume leadership roles in the country To recruit and maintain qualified, competent and dedicated staff who will/shall give in their utmost best in tuition and also to admit BECEleavers who have attained the requisite qualification and ensure quality education delivery with the view to achieving academic excellence
