About: AB REVIEW SAYS Popular for its well packaged business programs, New Juabeng Senior High School has gained respect in the Koforidua municipality as a top school. NIJUASCO as it is popularly referred to offer courses in the secretarial field too. The school has adequate facilities including an assembly/dining hall, library, sports field, administration block, etc. The social environment on campus is very invigorating with strong student participation in clubs and societies. The spiritual organizations i.e. Scripture Union, PENSA, etc are very active and play a vital role in shaping the students. The school has an established old student association but has not been in touch with the school for some time now. It boasts of prominent men especially in the business field. STUDENTS SAY “…” Students appreciate the dedication of teachers. Student-teacher relationship is impressive. They also appreciate the Christian fellowship and devotion meetings. Infrastructure-wise, students called for the building of an assembly hall. The secretarial students asked that the typewriting pool should be fully resourced. Science students also commented that the science lab needs resourcing. Students called for the organization of more interschool’s programs to up the social environment on campus. New Juabeng Senior High began as a private school established by Mr�G� Kwaku Adjei, a native of Asokore, Koforidua in 1953�New Juabeng College of Commerce (NJUACOCO as it was then called) became a government assisted secondary school in 1965 and it was renamed New Juabeng Secondary Commercial School (NJUASCO). It was Daasebre Nana Kwaku Boateng (the then Omanhene of New Juabeng, Traditional area) who graciously donated the land to the school where it is currently occupying�A personality who was very instrumental in the building of the structures of the school (except the PTA Block, the clinic, the New Girls and Boys Dormitory Blocks and the Visual Arts Block) was Colonel George Minyilah (RTD) one time Regional Commissioner in the Eastern Region� The vision is to implement the pre-tertiary aspect of the goals of the Ministry of Education in such a way as to achieve high quality education and training that could improve the manpower needs of the country� The mission is to strictly ensure that teachers give out their best, ensure strict discipline among staff and students and to provide relevant inputs in order to enhance teaching and learning
