HOLY CHILD SCHOOL
HOLY CHILD SCHOOL
About: AB REVIEW SAYS Holy Child College has got it all: a challenging academic environment, favorable presence on the internet, active clubs and societies and strong performance in extracurricular activities, highly networked and supportive old student association and high popularity and satisfaction from the students it turns out. The school is the embodiment of an ideal senior high school. In addition to this, the school is well endowed with excellent facilities; has beautiful structures that provide an ambience for studies and encourage their students to excel in whatever they find their hands to do. Founded in 1946 by the Sisters of Holy child Jesus, the school has come a long way to be considered a leading school. Like any institution however, it has its weakness. Students voice out for a little more freedom and the dining hall food needs betterment. On the whole, Holico is a great school that students from other schools respect and appreciate. STUDENTS SAY “…” Students are active partakers in the academic environment. It is common to see students helping each other solve problems. Teachers are highly dedicated to work and have a good rapport with students. Students are encouraged to participate in clubs and societies. Top Clubs include: GUNSA, Red Cross, Writers, Drama and Debaters Club (WDD), French club amongst others. This is how one final year student sums up her thoughts on the school. She writes: “Holy Child discovers and develops the unique talent in every student”. A statement AB Review strongly upholds. It was established in March 1946 by the Sisters of the Society of Holy Child Jesus. It started as a combined Teacher Training College and Secondary School with 120 students. The vision of the school is to provide a world class quality education that takes into account the total and harmonious development of the girl-child. The mission of the school amongst others seeks to: • develop the individual talents and abilities of her students to the highest possible level. • equip her students to face the world and its complexities, expectations, challenges and demands.
