Founded in 1948, by Dr. Kwame Nkrumah (even before he was president), Ghana national has remained a top tier mixed school offering good training for its students. The school competes on a high level with the very top schools in terms of academics and sports. Survey shows that clubs and societies are not as active. The old student association is fairly active and networked.
