AB REVIEW SAYS Established by the Ghana Education Trust of the Nkrumah government on 22 September 1961, Ofori Panin Senior High is rated creditably among the best co-educational second cycle schools in the country. OPASS, as it is affectionately called, gained its popularity initially through their outstanding performances in games and sports especially athletics. Now it is popular across the region for both its academic and extracurricular laurels. The school’s motto “Dwen na Som” which literally means Render Service with a thoughtful mind gives one an idea of the good training the students receive. The PTA is amongst the most visible in the region, recently funding semi detached houses for teachers and the provision of a girl’s dormitory annex. The old student association can help the school in improving and modernizing its infrastructure. STUDENTS SAY “…” Participation in clubs, societies and other extracurricular activities is highly encouraged. An old student expressed that he appreciated the keen debate and sports competitions in school. Active clubs in the school include Writer’s club, Drama Society and Scripture Union. Students reiterated that more motivation of teachers is necessary for the teachers to give off their best. One student writes that he appreciates the learning spirits of the students. This is an indication of healthy competition that exists among students. Infrastructure-wise, a general concern for the expansion of classrooms was called for which is the case for most of the senior high schools in the country.
