AB REVIEW SAYS Located in the capital of Brong Ahafo Region, Sunyani Senior High School popularly known as SUSEC is a product of the Ghana Education Trust and the toast of the region. The school which was founded on the 2nd of October, 1958 has kept a good academic performance since its inception. It boasts of a modern language laboratory, computer lab, internet café and other creditable facilities. It ranks high amongst schools with an updated and creative website. The school’s PTA is a unified one which sponsors a lot of the school’s projects. There exist a hot rivalry between Susec and Saint James seminary in the academic and sports arena. This rivalry, the survey revealed spurs the students to give their best in all interschool’s’ competitions. STUDENTS SAY “…” Students are generally satisfied about the school but make calls for the upgrading of dormitories and school facilities. Old students of the school should give more support to the upgrading of school’s facilities. One student emphasizes that more attention should be given to final year students. He writes that “Career development courses should be taught to senior students about to finish school”. This he believes will make them more prepared for life after school. Punctuality is maintained at most school gatherings and teachers are highly concerned about maintaining the discipline level in the school. Sunyani Senior High School popularly known as SUSEC is one of the products of Ghana Education Trust It was established in 1960 by Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, the then President of Ghana. The first batch of students, 36 in number, comprising 31 boys and 5 girls were admitted on Friday 30TH October, 1960 On 13TH December 1960, Osagyefo DrKwame Nkrumah inaugurated the school at a colourful ceremony The school started with only 3 Teachers and 9 Non-Teaching Staff To provide a broad secondary education and sound training for our young boys and girls to be imbued with discipline, honesty, dedication, respect,responsibility and time consciousness to enable them co-exists peacefully with others To provide an all round education encompassing skills acquisition, enhanced literacy, numeracy,physical development, sound moral training and spiritual development, which will make students productive and useful to themselves and the entire society
