The unexpectancies in this season’s #TheSharksQuiz are overwhelming whereas the surprises are having rippling effects on the minds of many. The practicality of this was evident in the contest between second runner ups Keta Senior High School and one time winners Ghana Christian High International School.

It was quite a passionate beginning as Keta came bearing bandwidth to outshine their opponents. As hard as they played, Ghana Christian High finished the first round of the mental race with 80 points against 60 for their counterparts.

Assuming the second round with girded loins, the Volta contingents riffled their way through, trimming the efforts of their contenders to 15 points while they doubled to an almost conceding point. Two rounds into the contest and Keta had already given Ghana Christian High a hard run, scoring only 5 points back.

The bell tolled for the third bout for the day. Both schools struggled to put their best foot forward but Keta seemed to have come with a strategy which pulled off excellently. They managed to combat their contenders with sturdy mental jabs which severely weakened GCHIS to stupor. At the end of the round, Keta packed 55 points condemning the Dodowa powerhouse to a -15 score. It was a joyful instant indeed, for the leading team. It was as though their deciding moment came early but would the last round make a difference?

As their intelligence intercepted, either schools was in a turmoil crafting the ability to downplay the other.  It was a heated scuffle although on party was comfortably ahead of the other. The Keta representatives were not just in to make a name but perhaps, to reaffirm their unmatchable stance. Well, eventually the attestation was made clear to the house. They rounded up the last bout with a 15 to -20 scare lead leaving Ghana Christian School to a whopping 100 scare difference. That was unpredictably remarkable! The revelling was hysterical.

Each contest stems a myriad of inexpressible feelings and we certainly cannot wait to experience what the next battle serves.

Last Season’s Finalists – Mawuli School Edge Past Mfantsiman Girls in the Second Round of 16 of the Sharks Quiz Season 4

The Second senior face-off of #TheSharksQuiz brought together Mfantsiman Girls and Mawuli School on the big stage.

The two notable institutions faced each other squarely in bouts quite unpredictable at the inception. Albeit the pulsating collision in the start-off round, Mawuli school ran ahead  of the “Syte” girls raking in 60 points against 40 for the latter. The ladies nonetheless pressed on and fought to gain dominance in the second round by scoring 20 and subduing their counterparts into the negative range; such feat they rejoiced over.

Mawuli was by this time put in a trance and left with a very herculean task to accomplish before the deciding round. They tried though and they managed to pick 35 points against 25 for their contenders in the third round. This total put neither of the schools ahead of the other because it brought them to a tie and thus, they had the final round to break it and finish ahead of the other.

It was a daunting moment for both schools. They risked their sweat and tried to compensate themselves by attempting some of their questions correctly. They struggled to find their feet to stand, one above the other. All through the chills they fought for warmth. At last! There was the decider. Amidst the pull down drama, one of them managed to stand tall.

Mfantsiman Girls’ had been squashed down to a -10 score while Mawuli triumphed, adding 10 points to their lot. Kotoka JHS Squeezes Out Services JHS In The #JuniorSharks Of #TheSharksQuiz

The first contest of The Sharks Quiz for the day ignited the heat for the event with Services Junior High School and Kotoka Junior High School facing off at the junior level. The two schools started on carefully steady notes perhaps, with the intended strategy of picking on the weakness of the other to their advantage.

In the first round of the contest, Kotoka fought head-on to finish off with 20 points against 10 for their competitors. As if the moment of testing waters wasn’t over, the competing schools cast their nets and drew nothing in the second round; it ended with nil scores for either schools.

The most critical parts of #TheSharksQuiz are the second to fourth rounds of the contest. In those rounds, contenders lose 5 whole marks for questions answered wrongly. It is therefore relevant that contestants make careful thoughts and give certainly, right answers in order to avoid losing precious marks. This rule conceivably deterred both schools from risking their chances.

Kotoka Junior High School nevertheless took a leap of faith by going hard on their contenders. They made a remarkable imprint on their name in the third round when they nailed Services down to 0 while they clocked 30 points.

The last round for the day became the power button of the contest. Either schools attempted most of their questions and kept on adding on and taking away with the right and wrong answers they gave. At the end of it all, Services floated with 10 points while Kotoka JHS scuffled down at -5. But that would not be sufficient to put Services JHS through to the #JuniorSharks Quarterfinals. Kotoka JHS were victors of the day with an overall 45 – 20 win.

The winners of this contest would however have to come back well-braced in their next contest as we anxiously wait for their next take on.

Wesley Girls’ Outlasts Okuapeman School In The Sharks Quiz Season 4

The heat and beat in the preliminary stage of this year’s Sharks Quiz projects a season of drama and new stances as newbies, Wesley Girls’ High School gives a sterling performance, qualifying for the next round of competition. The ladies from the historic city battled eastside, Okuapemann Senior High School to cut the mark for the big stage. They found a safe space right from the beginning of the contest, doubling Okuapemann’s 20 points in the first round. The next round of the contest was well played by both schools with the latter accruing more points than they did in the previous round. However, they still fell 20 points back as their contenders pulled a total 60 points for that round. It was indeed a downing moment for Okuapemann School nevertheless, would they keep the trait of a fighter and still find hope in the subsequent rounds? It may have been a first time #SharksQuiz experience for the Cape Coast giants but certainly not a first time taking over a contest! They proved this by dominating the third round again with a 30 – 0 score putting the eastern royals in an even more suppressive zone. By this time, the Okuapemann contingents were perhaps devising a supernatural means to trample down their counterparts by the last round. The deciding round did favour Okuapemann School but their weight was not strong enough to topple Wesley Girls’ School into defeat as they garnered only 10 points more of the latter’s 5. Wey Gey Hey carried the day by a staggering 60 point lead, making it evident that they may be first timers but they can certainly beat the heat on the main front. They were revered by sister institutions and supporters. Well, nothing wrong with a bit of smooge between friends; it was without doubt a splendiferous virtual contest.
