About: AB REVIEW SAYS Founded in September, 28 1961, E.P Hohoe Senior High is an acclaimed school in the Volta region with encouraging academic performances. The school hasn’t gained that much popularity across the country despite its creditable performances. The school boasts of an active alumna referred to as HEPSSOSA, which gives constant support to the school. The old student association recently presented computers, a school bus and furnished the lab. This support however is not sufficient as the school still lacks some facilities. E.P senior high school is one of the schools that have potential to chalk more success. The administration should take frantic efforts to project the school’s profile over and beyond the school walls. The school’s motto “tolle lege” which means Pick and read motivates the students to be well-read. STUDENTS SAY “…” Students say there is healthy competition amongst them in terms of academics. About: AB REVIEW SAYS Established by the University of Cape-coast in 1976, to serve as a practice school for the training of the teachers of the university, University Practice Senior High has had a fair share of problems ranging from inadequate facilities to problems with teacher accommodation. The school, which has majority of students as permanent residents of the region, undaunted by the challenges it faces has posted creditable results in the WASSCE. Support from PTA has been the live wire of its existence and progress. There are calls for more support for the young school from old students and Getfund. The administration should lay more emphasis on the Home econs and Visual arts program to raise the academic standards. It’s featured in our list because despite its challenges, it has good standing academically and socially. STUDENTS SAY “…” Despite commendation to the staff for great commitment to work, most of the responses from the students were comments stating the problems they had with the lack of facilities. One student stated that projects in the school should be completed as and when scheduled. Another remarked on the construction of a bigger science laboratory and the replacement of the old school bus. The computer lab is virtually empty and there are calls for computers and accessories. The stakeholders of the school (old student association, PTA, Getfund could help with the improve the school’s infrastructure. University Practice Senior High School is a Government Co-educational Day Institution which was founded in September, 1976, following an agreement between the University of Cape Coast and the Ghana Education Service on the initiative of the Faculty of Education (UCC).
