AKROFI-CHRISTALLER INSTITUTE OF THEOLOGY, MISSION AND CULTURE
AKROFI-CHRISTALLER INSTITUTE OF THEOLOGY, MISSION AND CULTURE
About: The Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission and Culture is a postgraduate research and training Institute fully accredited by the National Accreditation Board of the Ministry of Education as a tertiary institution with a Presidential Charter to award its own degrees. It is a research university promoting African innovation and excellence and dedicated to the study and documentation of Christian history, thought and life in Ghana and in Africa as a whole, in relation to their African setting and to world Christianity. ACI seeks to strengthen Christian witness in the modern Africa and world context through Christian scholarship. Named after two past great scholars of the Twi language and pioneer figures in the cultural witness of the Church in Ghana, Clement Anderson Akrofi and Johannes Gottlieb Christaller, the Akrofi-Christaller Institute of Theology, Mission and Culture (ACI) (formerly Akrofi-Christaller Memorial Centre for Mission Research and Applied Theology, ACMC) seeks to be at the cutting edge of the churchs mission and encounter with society and culture in Ghana, Africa and the wider world. The Institute stands in a tradition that combines piety, creativity and academic excellence in the furtherance of the witness to the gospel in Ghana and across Africa. This was the hallmark of the training given in the historic Akropong Seminary whose buildings, (Basel House in Akropong-Akuapem), constructed in the 1840s and 1860s but renovated in 1992, and expanded in 1996-1998, the Institute now occupies. The Institute has modern and well-maintained residential and catering facilities, a significant and up-to-date specialist library, and lecture and study facilities in a historic setting where issues of gospel and culture are a day-to-day concern. The 40 staff members seek to model Christian community, meeting for daily worship as the accompaniment of academic and pastoral activities. The Institute was formally established in 1987 as an independent body, a company limited by guarantee and registered under the Companies Code as a charity. The legal and administrative structures of the Institute were designed with a view to creating an institution that would be sustainable, financially self-supporting and sufficiently open to serve also the needs of the wider Christian and academic communities.

TECHIMAN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
TECHIMAN SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL
About: AB REVIEW SAYS As one of the Giants of the Brong Ahafo, Techiman Senior High is one of the respected schools in the region. The rich history of the school coupled with standard facilities gives way for it to be considered a top school in the country. In recent times, however, the school academic performance has been dwindling and a discipline record is not as impressive as earlier days. Clubs and societies are active on campus and participation in extracurricular activities is encouraged. The school’s internet presence is low making it difficult for access to school’s profile and current happenings. The school administration should take steps to create a platform for the dismenination of information from the walls of the school STUDENTS SAY “…” More needs to be done for school to return to its glorious days. There exists a cordial student-teacher relationship. Most popular cubs and societies include the RED Cross, religious groups, the Debating club among others. Students pride in the number of sporting accolades the school has won. Techiman Senior High has great potentials to offer an all-round education to its students. The idea for the establishment of the first secondary school in the then Techiman District was wholly a result of community advocacyIt was in fact the initiative the of Techiman Traditional Council during the reign of Nana Akumfi Ameyaw III who released a parcel of land of about 200 acres for the purposeConsequently on the 6th of March 1963, the foundation stone for the establishment of Techiman Senior High School was laid by HonAJDowuona Hammond, the then Minister of Education in the first Republic of Ghana under Osagefo DrKwame Nkrumah On the 1st of November, 1963, the school was officially opened with seventy one (71) studentsThe Motto of the school is “NIHIL NISSI OPTIMUM” (in Latin, meaning NOTHING BUT THE BEST) To turnout products who are well disciplined to peacefully co-exist with others by inculcating moral and religious values into our students and to implement the goals of the Ghana Education Service• To provide access to all students from the Basic Schools in our catchment area and beyond • To ensure discipline, religious and moral training in all our students
