About: B usiness Senior High School (the first business school of the North) was established on the 9th of September, 1963 as a private institution by Mr�Samuel Benjamin Gogoe of Tarkwa� The school was not attractive to many students at the time, as it was a purely commercial (business) school, coupled with the fact that the fee was also a fortune� The school relocated and changed its name a number of times as student enrolment increased� From Baba Kofi’s Compound to Ex-Sgt. NasaniMoshie’s Compound house in Sakasaka, through to it’s present site; opposite the old airport on the Nyankpala road� The School is to produce self-motivated, critical thinking and result-oriented students in both quality and quantity for higher education and the world of work in Ghana and beyond. Our mission is to render quality education services to all students than any of our competitors to ensure that they meet their aims and objectives; needs and wants; dreams and wishes through best coordination, supervisory and management practices

About: AB REVIEW SAYS Swedru Senior High which celebrated its 50th anniversary recently has come far over the years to gain respect as a top school in the country. It is noted for having a good business program and has consistently produced creditable results in academics and sports. The school offers rewards every semester to students who excel in exams, a tradition other schools must emulate. It is one of the few schools whose students commend dining hall food. However, the survey shows a more varied menu will be appreciated. Swesco maintains a high level of neatness on campus which is appreciated by students and visitors. It has potential to improve its overall rating. STUDENTS SAY “…” Teachers are commended by students to be very dedicated to work. Good values are purportedly inculcated in students by way of a vibrant Scripture union and other religious societies. Discipline is high. One student writes “Scrubbing, which is the most popular form of punishment, should be maintained”. More encouragement should be given to students to be more active in clubs and societies and other extracurricular activities. Students believe more Old student and PTA support is needed to spearhead the upgrading of the school. Swedru Senior High School (SWESCO) has a student population of 2,490, teaching staff strength of 104 teachers, and 73 non-teaching staff members. It is currently headed by Mrs. Alberta O. Rigg-Stewart. The vision of Swedru Senior High School is to use the existing facilities and policies to give the Ghanaian child quality education through effective teaching and learning. The mission statement of the school is to make effective use of, and maintain, its physical, human and financial resources through prudent means to achieve its aims and objectives
