AB REVIEW SAYS Named after the brave Asante warrior, Yaa Asantewaa, the school has lived up to expectation as a respectable all girls high school. Affectionately called YAGISS, the school has gained popularity in the Ashanti Region and beyond. Academic standards are high and it boasts of a high discipline level. However, it is expected that the school should have a website and use other networks to projects its name outside its walls. This could make it a top notch school with a 21st century touch. The school campus is immaculately neat and buildings are generally in good condition. The school has a flourishing partnership with their boy’s school, Prempeh College. STUDENTS SAY “…” Students commend teachers’ excellent attitude to work and embrace the good teacher-student relationship that exists. Clubs and societies are active and provide an exciting atmosphere on campus. Scripture Union on campus is very vibrant. One senior observes that lots of prayers are offered for final year students for good success in their final exam. School doesn’t really provide much emphasis on sports, one student writes. There were some complaints by students that there is too much restriction to their lifestyles on campus. Another complains that the assembly hall needs expansion. Despite good academic records, a general students survey shows that more input needs to be exerted on the visual arts program..
