Jema SHS is located in the district capital of Brong Ahafo RegionIt is sited at the right hand side of Techiman-Kintampo trunk road Jema SHS was officially opened on 28th day of January,1991 under the leadership of Mr Oppong Dickson who was assisted by MrAlex Vordazorgbe, a national service personnel The enrollment of students at that time was twenty-five. 15 were boys and 10 were girls. The school took off with the following programmes: Agric Science, Home Economics and Visual ArtsThe school’s population now stands at 555, with 273 girls and 282 boys The staff population now stands at 110, 62 teaching staff and 48 non-teaching staff. To become the prefered second cycle institution in the region which provides quality education to God fearing,disciplined hardworking and dedicated senior high school graduates within the Kintampo South District and Ghana at large. To provide equal access and quality education, in a conducive academic atmosphere, using quality, well motivated and dedicated personnel to help train students to acquire a holistic knowledge to enable them contribute to solving societal problems in nation building

The WASSCE results keep on improvingAlso in 2014,
Jema SHS was 5th in the girls’ soccer super zonal competition held at Dormaa SHSThe school also won the zonal
competition in athletics, hand ball, volley ball, table tennis
and soccerIn Sunyani, Jema SHS placed 5th in the athletic
competition and was adjudged as the well behaved school at the
end of the comprtitionJema SHS had six of its athletes selected
for the national competition at Wa in 2015
