AB REVIEW SAYS Koforidua Senior High Technical has one of the most serene campus environments in the country, consisting of shades of thick trees and vegetation with well trimmed hedges. The school which is located in Galoway, Koforidua near the police headquarters is the third sec-tech to be established by the Nkrumah government to produce scientists with knowledge in technical subjects at the senior high school level. It gained the name Eastern varsity for its good academic results and outstanding facilities which includes a library, science labs, arts studio, etc. Popularly referred to as Mmarimma Mma( meaning sons of men), the school has being consistent with notable academic and sports performances. Extracurricular activities are highly encouraged and old students generally support their alma mata. Survey shows that the school’s discipline record has improved considerably. STUDENTS SAY “…” Students show appreciation for the training they receive. They appreciate the experiences they go through whiles in school. Teachers are generally commended for their attitude to work. Students actively participate in clubs and societies which include the Science club, AFS, Scripture union, GUNSA, Green earth among others. The school’s enormous facilities are one thing respondents were unequivocal on. One student writes: we have our own electricity plant capable of providing electricity for the whole metropolis. Another respondent who is health conscious writes that the school’s water reservoir should be washed consistently. One interesting comment sums up the training the school offers: “one comes to Koforidua Senior high tech as a boy but leaves as a trained man”. Basically, a technical and science school with a conducive learning atmosphere very close to the police training school, with a highly discipline students and staff� To create an enabling environment to facilitate effective teaching and learning� To ensure that all Ghanaian children of school-going age are provided with quality formal education and training through effective and efficient resource management that will facilitate the making of education delivery relevant to the manpower and social needs of the nation�
