Tumu Secondary/Technical School is one of the new secondary technical schools opened in 1991 under the Ghana Education Reform Programme aimed at reducing the number of years of Pre-University Education from seventeen (17) years to twelve (12) yearsIt was also intended to increase access to education and make the curricular more relevant to the needs of the individual and the country as a wholeIt metamorphosed from the Old Middle School system through the JHS to its present status with an enrolment of one hundred and fifty students (150) and nine (9) staff under the Headship of MrKuthbert Kuunyem Largely because of cost effectiveness, some schools, including Tumu Senior High/Technical School, are made to operate as day schools to absorb (Junior High School) pupils To produce academically and technically sound future leaders who are morally upright and self disciplined with relevant talents and skills to meet the needs of the nation and the economic development of Africa To provide an enabling environment for teaching and learning for the acquisition of practical knowledge and experience in technical, vocational and agricultural skills; we aspire to ensure the overall development of self-reliant students in moral, cultural, physical and leadership spheres
